Community Work

I'm very involved in the Computer Science community. I am a firm believer in the importance of computer science education, and have worked to improve it over the past few years.

I have been a teaching assistant for intro computer science classes at Penn since 2012. In 2013, I developed lessons for the CS education organization CodeHS. Additionally, I am currently a mentor for new computer science students at Penn, helping them learn how to be successful programmers.

I am also the head of an organization called 121Reach. Started in 2010 and based in 3 high schools in Georgia, 121Reach is a mentorship organization for middle school students. Every week, high school students travel to their local middle school to tutor and mentor struggling middle schoolers. My involvement with the organization gained me recognition as a 2013 Global Teen Leader, and allowed me to attend the Three Dot Dash GTL Summit.
